Established in September 2016 (as Tameside Fibromyalgia Warriors), the group was put together to offer support to anyone within the Tameside area, who suffered from or had a loved one that suffered from the condition.

The group quickly caught the attention of others that suffered from Fibromyalgia but lived within the surrounding areas outside of the Tameside boundaries and also those that suffer from similar conditions. The group was then opened to include people from all areas of East Manchester (Oldham, East Manchester, Stockport, and Tameside) and to include other similar conditions such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME / CFS) and the new condition Long COVID. Increasing the boundary prompted the trustees to discuss the group name, as having the area within the name caused confusion, so the name was subsequently changed from Tameside Fibromyalgia Warriors to Fibro Fighters.

Our local community support group is registered as working with FMA UK, UK Fibromyalgia and Action Together.

Our Team?

We are a team of Four Trustee's that run the group on a voluntary basis. All trustee’s either has Fibromyalgia / ME themselves or that support a family member with the condition.
